Is there a delivery charge?
Yes, charges for the larger hampers start from £8.50 for courier delivery throughout the UK. Alternatively, you can collect your basket from the lower Wensleydale village of Hackforth by prior arrangement. Hackforth is between the market towns of Bedale and Leyburn, and is also close to the A1.
What if I am unavailable on delivery day?
Our courier would generally require a signature on delivery. You may wish to make arrangements with a friend or neighbour to sign for your package, or perhaps you would like it delivered to your work place. However, if you send us an e-mail stating that you would like the package left in a designated area, this can be arranged. Unfortunately, we can not take any responsibility after delivery has taken place.
Are the hampers presented in a suitable format for a gift?
Absolutely! Not only do we believe that their contents are unique, but we also take pride in their presentation. The wicker baskets are cotton lined and once filled, are wrapped in fabric, tied with a bow and finished with a hand-crafted label. Examples of the finished gift are shown in every photograph.
Can I send a personalised message for a gift hamper?
Yes. We would be delighted to personalise your hamper with a special message. You can also purchase a hand made card for your message if you wish, cards are available on our website.
Why buy from The Hamper Company?
Because we are different! We believe that we offer a truly unique range of foods and drinks in our hampers. All our suppliers are Yorkshire based companies, and the majority are tiny, high quality producers, whose goods are rarely seen outside Yorkshire. White Rose Preserves, for example, make all their products in a Wensleydale Farmhouse kitchen. Not only is the food delicious, but the hampers are beautiful as well!
I really do not like giving my credit card details to companies on the Internet! Is there any other way that I can pay?
Yes! Although our site is secure, we understand that you may prefer to purchase your hamper in another way. We are on the end of a phone during office hours, or you may prefer to post your order to us along with a cheque. If you want to pick it up yourself pay direct, you can save yourself the delivery charge!
How soon will I receive my hamper after making a purchase?
We aim to deliver as soon as possible after receiving your payment. Delivery is made using an overnight courier service, and unfortunately weekend deliveries are not normally possible. However, if you particularly want a weekend delivery, please call us and we will do our very best for you. Please note that there may be an extra charge for this service. Certain hamper items are made to order, and therefore your hamper may take up to a week to reach you, once again, just call us if you require a speedier service. Obviously delays can occasionally occur, but in this rare event we would keep you informed at every stage.
Can I make my own choice of food products for my hamper?
Yes! We want you to have a hamper that you really love. If you want to substitute products in a hamper, or to create your own special order, just e-mail or phone with your requirements.
What if I am unhappy with the hamper when it arrives?
Obviously, we want you to be delighted with your hamper. We take the utmost care to ensure that all hampers leave here in perfect condition. However, sometimes things can go wrong, and if your hamper has been damaged in transit, we will exchange it. If you have bought the wrong goods, we will exchange it within 14 days, provided that perishable products are not involved. In this instance, we would require you to pay postage costs. Unfortunately, once products have been used or removed from their original packaging, we are unable to exchange them. Please keep your proof of purchase. This does not affect your statutory rights.
